White House Rural Council Targets Farmers • May 5, 2011, Department of Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood proposed a rule change for farm equipment and all operators of farm equipment • All farm vehicles and implements would be re-classified as Commercial Vehicles • All farmers and farm personnel would be required to obtain a Commercial Drivers License in order to operate any such equipment • Insurance of $750,000 and detailed equipment operation log keeping would be required • A physical exam and drug testing every two years
