Self-Esteem • Is the way people feel about themselves. • It is a feeling and cannot be directly observed, but reactions from how people behave and react can be noted.
High Self-Esteem • Proud of their accomplishments • Act independently • Assume responsibility easily • Tolerate frustration • Approach new challenges with enthusiasm • Take positive risks • Resist peer pressure • Set and reach goals • Make good decisions • Treat other people with respect
Low Self-Esteem • Avoid situations that evoke fear or anxiety • Demean their own talents • Feel unliked or unwanted. • Blame others for their failures • Are overly influenced by others. • Become easily frustrated • Feel powerless
