Supply Risk Management Workshop Dr. Kevin McCormack August 29th, 2007
From the Book Pessimism: If you think everything always goes wrong for you, you are probably right. Pessimist recover more slowly from heart attacks, surgery, etc. and are more prone to severe reactions to traumatic events. They’re also more likely to die sooner, especially from accidents or violence. but who cares? Life sucks anyway. Optimism: Don’t worry be happy! What one psychologist calls the “tyranny of the positive attitude” can make people feel worse and less able to cope with difficult situations. White Out: Ninety-one people in the UK were injured in 2000 from correction fluid (white out).
