FOOTBALL • GOAL: Method of scoring. • CROSS: A delivery of a ball from either side of the field across to the front of the goal by applying various kicking techniques. • ASSIST: A pass by a player or players that helps set up a goal. • CORNER: A method of restarting play in a game. • DRIBBLING: One of the most difficult ball skills to master and one of the most useful attacking moves. • PRESSING: Man close marking. • UEFA: is the administrative and controlling body for European association football.  UEFA represents most of the national football associations of Europe, runs national and club competitions in its area, and controls the prize money, regulations and media rights to those competitions.

BASKETBALL • PALYMAKER: Player who controls the flow of the team's offensive play. • PIVOT: The tallest player in the team. • PICK & ROLL: Offensive play in which a player sets a screen. • ALLEY-OOP: Offensive play in which one player throws the ball near the basket to a teammate who jumps and scores. • TAP-IN: The action of correct a failed shoot when the ball is still in air. • ZONE PRESS: A special kind of zone defence. • ASSIST: An action that helps another player on your sports team to make a point. • COACH: someone who trains a person or team. • MVP: Most valuable player  is an honor typically bestowed upon the best performing player or players on a specific team, in an entire league, or for a particular contest or series of contests.

RUGBY • TOUCHE: The line out in the rugby. • DROP: A method of scoring in rugby, kicking the ball over the crossbar and between the uprights. • NUMBER 8: The only position in rugby that does not have a specific name in English and is simply referred to as "number eight" or "eighthman". • MAUL: Play action that occur when a player carrying the ball is held by one or more opponents, and one or more of the ball carrier's team mates bind on the ball carrier.

POKER • BET: Called also opening is the act of making the first voluntary bet in a betting round. • CHECK: Is equivalent to calling the current bet of zero. • CALL: To match a bet or match a raise. • RAISE: To increase the size of the bet. • FOLD: To discard one's hand and forfeit interest in the current pot.

TENNIS • NET: the thing that players must hit the ball over. • MATCH POINT: a point that, if won by a player, will also win them the match. • ACE: first shot in tennis which is hit so well that your opponent cannot reach the ball and you win the point. • PENALITY POINT: occurs when a player does something wrong and is punished with one penalty point. • DEUCE: the situation in tennis when both players have 40 points, after which one of the players must win two more points to win the game. • OUT: the ball is out of the area of play.

  7. SKATING • LUTZ: is one of the jumps of figure skating. You run starting from the outer edge pointing back and landing on the opposite outside edge back to the starting location. • AXEL: is one of the jumps in figure skating, the only one where we start forward on the left outer edge. And 'now also double and triple axel. • SALCHOW: is one of the jumps of figure skating. You run from a wire inside the left back, which gradually brings the right leg forward from behind .. this jump is preceded by a preparation. • FILP: is a step to rest. • RITTEBERG: is a particular type of jumping and figure skating is not a leap bet. Is called by the Anglophone: Loop.

SKI AND SNOWBORDING • FREERIDE: a type of snowboard used for riding on all types of snow. • FREESTYLE: a sports competition in which competitors can use any movements they choose. • HALF-PIPE: a U-shaped structure or a U-shaped channel cut into snow, used for performing complicated movements in skateboarding, rollerblading and snowboarding. • TRICK: snowboard figure.
