  3. Innovations1882 The “fusi photographique” was developed in France. It was a camera shaped like a gun that could take twelve pictures per second Innovated by: Etienne Marey

  4. Innovations1884 Rolled Film was invented in 1884. It was the first form of film that could be placed into a camera. Invented by: George Eastman

  5. Iterations Very little was done to modify film during the late 1800s, except for the addition of the Eastman Dry Plate Company, founded in 1884 after George Eastman invented the flexible, paper-based photographic film.

  6. Societal Influences The new technology discovered in the late 1800s in photography created a revolution of camera development in the United States and around the world.

  7. Societal Influences The new and improved dry plates used to capture images made it easier for the photographer to take the picture As cameras became more common, they became more and more in demand. As the demand for them increased, so did the yearning for better camera technology.
