  15. STEP as a PASCAL Challenge?

  16. Status • I gave a talk on STEP to the UCL Center for Computer Science and Machine Learning • They (including coordinator of the whole PASCAL network) think it would make a good PASCAL Challenge • If we want to go ahead we should send in a proposal by the end of September

  17. Pros • Free labour – maybe they solve it for us • Some funding for developing automated grading of results • We learn about new statistical methods • We get to spend our time on all the other issues

  18. Cons • We were rather hoping to solve it ourselves • It will take time to set up and might not get many participants
