  3. MATHEMATICS ASSESSMENT • Both exams (Math 30-1 and 30-2) were built to the published blueprint and matched the program of studies.  • Teachers and post- secondary representatives, as well as internal staff (Program of Study and Resources, French Language Education Services,  Assessment) validated the exam.  (Math 30-2 was all raw items, so it had additional validation committees)

  4. MATHEMATICS - ASSESSMENT • The % of students writing Math 30-1 and Math 30-2 was approximately the same as the % writing Pure Math 30 and Applied Math 30, respectively.  Since Math 30-2 does have greater post-secondary acceptance, it is hoped that the population will shift (i.e., the hope is that the students who Math 30-2 is intended for will move into this stream)  • Standards Confirmation was held.  Benchmarks of performance for the acceptable standard and the standard of excellence were established.  These results will be used to inform future diploma examination development .
