Your Company • Know the expectations . • Be aware of the impact on your daily work. • Make arrangements inside your company. • Inform your boss and your colleagues.

Your colleague-mentor • It’s good to know each other. • Talk about your own expectations. • Be open : strengths / weaknesses • Agree clearly about the assignements.

The SME :What do you know about them ? • Via Plato coordination • Via a visit on the workfloor • Via the teambuilding weekend • Via the sessions • Via informal talks
The SME : Visit on the workfloor (1) • Visit them, together with your colleague mentor. • Make an appointment during working hours. • Foresee enough time for a tour on the shopfloor. • Visit them before the teambuilding weekend • Your task is to break the ice.
The SME : Visit on the workfloor (2) • You can learn a lot about : • Customer orientation • Cleanliness /quality aspects • Time management • Image • Internal organisation • Prepare a list of questions.
The SME : Visit on the workfloor (3) • Be informed about practical arrangements with respect to parent activities. • SME ≠ Big Company (Multinational) • Make a round-up after the visits. Do that, together with your colleague- mentor. Write down your first impressions. • Inform the Plato-coordinator immediatly when you have doubts about some participant.

The group: Teambuilding weekend • First contact between participants. • That weekend is very important for the group loyalty. • Individual expectations are discussed. • Competences in the group are revealed here. • Opportunity to make arrangements concerning the way of working together.(Standing rules)
The Sessions (1)Some tips • Make up a program for 6 months. • Do not overload the agenda. • Avoid theoretical approaches. • Have a fall back program. • Optimise administration asap. • Agree about the standing rules.
The Sessions (2)Standing rules e.g. about following items : • Fixed date and hour to start the meeting. • How to communicate ? • Confirmation required. • No smoking, no mobile phones ...during the meeting. • Secrecy guaranteed • .....
The Sessions (3)Prepare the session • Select the speaker ( via coordinator, via own network, via participants ). • Inform the speaker about specific questions, expectations or points of interest. • Ask for the needs of the speaker ( beamer? flipchart ?..). • Fix the location, and provide the required tools. • Send the invitations / collect the confirmations. • Think about remuneration of the speaker.
The Sessions (4)During the session • Define the roles of the different mentors • Introduction of the speaker • Watch the process • Timing • Informal moments • Observe the involvement of the different participants. • Stimulate interaction between participants. • Inform / reorient the speaker if necessary • Make room for informal meetings during break or after the session
The Sessions (5)After the sessions • Evaluate the session via written forms or via informal talks. • Keep an eye on absentees. • Arrange informal meetings or events

Plato co-ordinator • Can provide information about participants. • Can help with the selection of speakers. • Can help when there are problems within a group. • Can stimulate contacts between the mentors • Expects evaluation reports • Appreciates the enthusiastic cooperation of the mentors.
