The Territorial Youth Coaching Network in Antwerp aims to prevent dropout and promote first employment through various forms of youth coaching. The network includes youth coaches, peer coaching, and first employment projects in schools, as well as initiatives for traffic safety and prevention. The network coordinator oversees and supports the partners involved in the network.

CORE TASKS: • proposes actions to promote the cooperation between partners • works out up a coaching network • informs, gives advice and supports schools and other partners with respect to the use of (the partners in) the network • monitors the network and reports any difficulties to those directly involved, the city authorities and/or the department of education
The Network • Contacts JOJO – territorial coaching - share neighbourhood network, contact parents, youth work, leisure activities • Demand-driven coaching through CMP/CLB (Student Guidance centres) - meet the young person through jojo, joint guidance • Link with SIS – traffic staff / school spotter - projects on places near public transport where nuisance is caused - map out unsafe roads, school itineraries • Links with other coaching initiatives: - family coaching, education shop / support, Traject 2

Working together : JCC and Youth coaching • Joco’s and jojo’s are very close to youngsters and can be a role model • Youthcoaches have a high rate of street credibility • Youth coaches can direct youngsters to the JCC’s for leasure and workshops, leading to new skills and discovering their talents • Youth coaches can direct youngsters to an appropriate • Youth coaches can bring unemployed youngsters or drop outs in touch with the WAC Counselors in the JCC’s, or directing them to a work counselor
Weaving the web • Trainings for all youth coaches twice a year take place in one of the JCC • The NC coaches the Schoolspotters and VeVe’s and uses the C-stick as a tool of reflection and as a portfolio • The NC works together with the JOCO’s and WAC counselors sends all information about vacancies in youth coaching jobs to • The NC sends updates about education and trainings and sends this to all the youthcoaches and the WAC counselors, and the mentors of the jojo’s in schools • The NC organizes trainings and intervision for mentors • The NC works together with the Ministry of Education, Minorityworkers, Youthcounseling,…
