Territorial and demand-driven coaching of the JOCOs • Territorial coaching: a territory + 3 schools each √ Prevent and/or avoid the drop-out of teenagers in full-time secondary education and part-time vocational education √ Offer leisure activities and provide stepping stones: sports, youth centres, neighbourhood initiatives • Demand-driven coaching through CMP: √ Guidance of young people with a problematicschool career, truancy files √ Guidance of young people who are reintegrated in education after a time-out or after a stay in an institution

PEER COACHES • Students in the same school: mostly 2nd and 3rd grade students • Confidential students • Conflict resolution • Actions for a pleasant school and school environment • Are coached by trained teachers
MISSION network coordinator • Maximum return coaching capacity • Guidance and support of the partners in a broad general vision on education policy
CORE TASKS: • proposes actions to promote the cooperation between partners • works out up a coaching network • informs, gives advice and supports schools and other partners with respect to the use of (the partners in) the network • monitors the network and reports any difficulties to those directly involved, the city authorities and/or the department of education
The Network • Contacts JOJO – territorial coaching - share neighbourhood network, contact parents, youth work, leisure activities • Demand-driven coaching through CMP/CLB (Student Guidance centres) - meet the young person through jojo, joint guidance • Link with SIS – traffic staff / school spotter - projects on places near public transport where nuisance is caused - map out unsafe roads, school itineraries • Links with other coaching initiatives: - family coaching, education shop / support, Traject 2
WIN-WIN situation • For the school: • Faster detection of students who may drop out • Support of first–line care • Better and faster contact with the parents • Support of the school in the context of student coaching • Easier access to community work, youth work and youth guidance • For the individual taking a first step to employment: • Growth towards social skills and job attitudes • Obtain a certificate (e.g. Youth Health Care) or diploma (e.g. safety training) • Increase job opportunities (job experience in education and youth guidance

Working together : JCC and Youth coaching • Joco’s and jojo’s are very close to youngsters and can be a role model • Youthcoaches have a high rate of street credibility • Youth coaches can direct youngsters to the JCC’s for leasure and workshops, leading to new skills and discovering their talents • Youth coaches can direct youngsters to an appropriate • Youth coaches can bring unemployed youngsters or drop outs in touch with the WAC Counselors in the JCC’s, or directing them to a work counselor
Weaving the web • Trainings for all youth coaches twice a year take place in one of the JCC • The NC coaches the Schoolspotters and VeVe’s and uses the C-stick as a tool of reflection and as a portfolio • The NC works together with the JOCO’s and WAC counselors sends all information about vacancies in youth coaching jobs to • The NC sends updates about education and trainings and sends this to all the youthcoaches and the WAC counselors, and the mentors of the jojo’s in schools • The NC organizes trainings and intervision for mentors • The NC works together with the Ministry of Education, Minorityworkers, Youthcounseling,…
