Why Employment 1st . • The programme is designed to help support career progression • National entry standard into industry which our industry has asked for • The programme’s content has been designed to be motivational • Raise an individual’s confidence levels • Whilst equipping them with relevant sector skills

  6. For Hospitality The Industries • Hospitality services • Hotels • Contract food service providers • Membership clubs • Pubs, bars and nightclubs • Restaurants • Coffee Shops • Events

  7. Available to: Occupational areas: Chef, Crew Member ,Kitchen Porter, Barista Coffee Shop Assistant ,Housekeeping, Bar Staff, Waiting staff , Travel Agent , Reception (Customer Service) Catering Supervisors, Leisure & Theme Park Attendant, Conference Assistant, Hotel Porter

What is it ? • 60 hours modularised with and additional 60 hours of materials if learners need extra help • Can be delivered over a number of weeks • Content includes legal training requirements • Such as Food Safety and Health and Safety, and Level 2 Principles of Customer Service…… • The modular approach means that the programme can be delivered flexibly • Which can help those out of work or on benefits

Supported by: • Learners are supported by UKSP • Which will help them map their career development • Understand the opportunity • Signpost them to the Good Employers in our sector via UKSP – Marketplace • Delegates who complete all modules will receive a completion certificate from People1st • With learning recognised on their UKSP

  10. A Qualification of its own Leading to the Level 1 Award in Introduction to Employment in the Hospitality Industry n.b. has been submitted to Ofqual we are expecting reference number during August 2010 C&G and BIIAB more to follow
