  2. Hearing Loss Hearing loss  is caused when your power to hear is lowered down. A hearing loss makes it more difficult for anyone to hear speech and other sounds.The most common causes of hearing loss are noise and aging. In most of the cases, a hearing loss cannot be treated. Hearing loss is typically cured with hearing aids.

  3. Causes of Hearing Loss A hearing loss can be caused by many factors, but age and noise are the two most common causes of hearing loss.Loss of hearing is a natural result of getting older. The hearing ability decreases from 40s and 50s onwards till one reaches their 80s, more than half of the public suffer from the significant hearing loss.Another common reason of hearing loss is exposure to noise. It can also be a result of living in a noisy world. This noise can come from work or from voluntary exposure to noise, like noisy motors or loud music at rock concerts, night clubs, and stereos - with or without the use of headphones. The increasing use of portable MP3 players is increasing the effects of hearing loss.

  6. Treatment of hearing loss Hearing loss can be treated, but hearing cannot be restored. In most of the cases, hearing loss is treated with the use of hearing aids. Some are treated with different types of implants and surgery may cure some types of conductive hearing loss.A sensorineural hearing loss is generally treated with hearing aids. A conductive hearing loss can be often treated with an operation or removal of the blockage of the ear, in certain cases hearing aids or implants might be needed.An immediate hearing loss must be treated very early and the treatment often involves the use of steroids.
