General Information About the City City of Trostyanets, Sumy region General Plan of City Development Plan of the Current Territory Usage M 1:10000 Ind.Park Trostyanets Trostyanetsis an administrative center of the Trostyanets district within the Sumy region. City territory is 3020,11ha. Population – 21,6 thousand people. Date of establishment is the year of 1660. City Day – first Saturday of September

National infrastructure running through the city territory: • Highway Sumy – Poltava – Oleksandria (Hlukhiv-Kharkiv) • Railroad Kyiv – Sumy – Kharkiv General Information About the City Railroad station „Smorodine”, which is situated in the city,is one of the important railway points in the Sumy region

Trostyanets – the City of History • The oldest buildings in the city are a “Round Yard”, which was built in 1749 as a fortress for protection from Crimean Tatars, and a Church of Annunciation, built in the year of 1750. • Christ Ascension Church was built in 1913 using the project of Oleksii Beketov, the academician. It has a marquees-domical style. • Since 1923 a Scientific-Research Forest Station (Krasno-Trostyanetska Station) has been functioning in the city. It deals with valuable trees species breeding and research of various plants development.

  6. During the summerof 1864a 24-year old composer Petr Chaikovskii visited the city, where he created his first symphony-overture for “The Thunderstorm” drama of Mikhailo Ostrovskii. In the year 1984 a monument dedicated to this event was established. During 1883-1885 Pavlo Hrabovskii, the poet and revolutionary, has been living in Trostyanets. In 1889 Anton Chekhov, a famous writer, visited the city. Trostyanets – the City of History

Trostyanets Is A City Of Festivals • Trostyanets has become a festival point since 1991: every year it holds a rural arts festival called “Boromlya”, a unique for Ukraine contest for the best performance of songs about the rural life. • There are also a musical festival “ChaikovskiiFest”, a festival of historic reenactment “An Old Fortress” and a music festival “East-rock”.

Trostyanets Is a Cultural City Since 2008 the evenings of classic music have been regularly held in a Duke Holitsyn mention, where talented artists from the Sumy region, as well as from other regions of Ukraine, Russia, Germany and Japan participate. Since 2006 Trostyanets welcomes international sessions of pictorial artcalled «PicturesqueTrostyanetchyna».The result of these events is an establishment of the municipal arts gallery.

Trostyanets Is The City Opened For Partnership The following branches of industry are in a priority for further development in the city: food, processing and wood industries. • The leading producer here is the chocolate factory of the PLC “Mondelēz Ukraine”, which provided 170,59 mln. $ of foreign investments for the 2007-2017 years.

A general amount of confectionary is: • year 2010 – 25,5thousand tones costing1447,5mln. hrn.; • year 2011 – 24,9thousand tones costing1533,6mln. hrn.; • year 2012 – 35,7thousand tones costing1926,0mln. hrn.; • year 2013 – 50,8thousand tones costing 2561,5mln. hrn; • year 2014 – 29,24thousand tones costing 2650,65 mln. hrn; • year 2015 – 33,56thousand tones costing 3372,97mln. hrn.; • year 2016 – 36,01thousand tones costing 3910,3mln. hrn.; • year 2017 – 45,4 thousand tones costing5081,1 mln. hrn.

  14. Local Authorities and Business Climate • A single investments framework is implemented in Sumy region as an instrument for simplification of the permits obtaining procedures. This allows to decrease the time necessary for putting into operation of the new facilities. . • The Centre for Administrative Services was established in the city council.

Industrial Park “Trostyanets” • The aim of creation: • support of the economic development and increase of the Trostyanets city competitiveness, • stimulation of the investing activities in the city and region, • creation of new workplaces, • development of the modern industrial and market infrastructure, • partial resource provision for the local leader of the food industry PLC “Mondelēz Ukraine” when possible, • further development of the agrarian production in the district.

  16. Industrial Park “Trostyanets” • Top-priority activities: - agricultural production processing; - light, wood processing, automobile and device construction industries. (the list of industries is not final and can be amended or changed relevantly to the current community needs). • Is not possible to establish: the enterprises which are harmful for the environment or those which strongly pollute the air or/and harm the region ecology seriously (chemical enterprises, iron and steel industry, heavy equipment industry, etc.).

  17. Industrial Park “Trostyanets” • The preference will be given to the food and processing industry enterprises aimed at the following activities: • Sugar production; • Milk processing; • Production of starchy food and flour-milling industry products; • Processing of the chicken eggs.
