Let us do what we do best and this is the reason for the 30% commission and rental space fee. Now all an artist needs to do is create their art or craft. Artists Alley Sarasota will take over the marketing and selling of the creations.

Janet Day was born in Schenectady, New York her family re- located to Chicago when she was 5 years old. Graduating high school she went to a junior college majoring in drama until she married and had two sons while working in photography sales for the next 10
years. Finding a love for sales and boats she excelled in boat sales for the next 20 years. While working full time she attended “The Actors Institute” and “Second City” where she honed her craft in acting and comedy, performing standup and sketch comedy regularly.
During this time she was also self taught in floral designing working with floral shops, interior designers and furniture stores. In 2004 she relocated to sunny Florida opening a clothing store on Siesta Key. Several years later she closed the store and
now widowed has worked full time in sales while still performing and teaching comedy. Currently she is working with an illustrator for her children’s book which she plans to self-publish.
Lloyd Dobson currently a full time artist was born in Kansas City, Missouri and raised in Independence, Missouri. he studied art in high school and college where he was blessed to win numerous art awards and ribbons.
In Missouri studied under the late artist Andrew Thoman. In college was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers and went to the west coast to their rookie training camp. His second year of playing minor league baseball he injured his ankle and being on crutches he resumed his passion for painting.
In Southern California he studied under California artist Bert Carter. He entered many art shows where he continued to win ribbons for his work, as well as selling oil paintings to hundreds of clients throughout the United States, Canada and the UK.
Corporate America got him and for the next 28 years was a general manager of both a retail car business and boat marina generating over 50 million dollars in sales. In 2007 he moved to Treasure Island, Florida where Florida’s west coast now seem to influence
his paintings. In 2013 he moved to the Siesta Key – Sarasota area and close to his son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter and they have invigorated him to continue capturing God’s palette. You can find Lloyd painting live most Wednesday mornings at the Siesta Key Public Beach or every
Sunday at the Siesta Key Market. You are far more likely to be successful in a gallery that’s hard at work. In other words, you want to work with galleries that earn their commission. This again describes Artists Alley Sarasota. Let us work for you!
