  2. Ash Wednesday begins forty days of preparation for celebrating the Resurrection. Be faithful to the Gospel and turn away from sin

  3. Lent celebrates the memory of the forty days Jesus spent alone praying in the desert.

  4. Lent is a time for strengthening our faith, a time to reflect on who we are and where we are going.

  5. It is a time of quiet and prayer, a time of penance and meditation,

  6. a time to become aware of our strength and weakness. Sloth Pride Gluttony Anger Lust Greed Envy

  7. Father in Heaven, the light of your truth bestows sight to the darkness of sinful eyes. May this season of repentance bring us the blessings of forgiveness and the gift of your light.
