Trip to Budapest By Dénes To Nicole
To get a taste • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0wkokaybWA

My marks not googles • A – Terror museum – interesting things about the socialist regime in the 1950s-1990s • B – heroe’s square(Hősök tere) • Highly recommended, here is the ice skating park and the Szechenyi bath as well • C – palace of Budapest – awesome view onto the city • D – Citadella – another awesom view (from here you can also see the palace, might be nicer at night) • E – Parliament – awesome bld. Will give u details • F – Váci utca – this is the main shopping street, but a little more expensive than if u would go to a normal shop, but still cheaper than Spain • G – Morrison’s one of the biggest clubs, would recommend to go here • H – Nagyi palacsintázója(pancake place) must see/taste • I – Nagymező utva /Jókai tér – here you can find bars, ruin bars clubs
To eat • Lunch • Big market(Vásárcsarnok) • Have a hungarian specialty • Kolbász, Lecsó, Töltött paprika, Töltött káposzta, Gulyás leves • Nagyi palacsintázója • Hungarian pancakes, gotta have it, its awesome • Some like the salty ones but I would just go with the sweets(cacao, marzipan, marmelade, nutella are great) • Dinner • Since you only have one I would just go to a place close to the club • Szilvakék paradicsom (http://www.bluetomato.hu/) • Crazy café(http://dzsungelcafe.hu/) • Both big meals and decent price • Breakfast • Just go into a grocery shop and buy: sajtos kifli, szalámi or párizsi, sajtkrém • =small bred with cheese,salami/meat, cheese cream • And gotta taste Túró Rudi • Any presents are accepted
The PLAN • Arrive at 0:00Friday night • Go to the Ruin bars • http://romkocsmak.hu/index.php?id=romkocsmak_lead • Check this site and decide whichever you like • My recommendation • Instant ( Nagymező u. 38) • Szimpla kert(Kazinczy u.14) • Finish whenever you feel like
Saturday • Start at the palace • Than have lunch at the Nagyi palacsintázója(pancake place) – Batthiany tér(sqaure), gives you a great view at the parliament • Than go home and pick up the swim suite • Go to the Terror musem(2hours)(Andrássy str. – off from the Octogon square) • Go to do some work out at the Műjégpálya(ice skating) you can rent your skates there • Go to the bath and chill out (Szechenyi bath) • Go get something to eat, and drop your stuff at home • You can start the night either at another ruinbar or just go streight to the club I mentioned(Morrison’s 2)
Sunday • Have an easy breakfast • Go to the parliament than from there you can just walk to the Vaci utca and do the shopping you would like to
Good to know • You can always catch a taxi, but ask the price before getting in – tell them where to and make sure he says an exact price – within Budapest it should not be more than 1500 HUF(forint) which is 5 euros • Public transport – • buy a 10-time ticket block, or check if there is a tourist ticket for 2 days(might be better off, but you stay right at Vaci utca…) • You have to validate them on the trams • I would prefer travelling by tram,so you can see the city, but the old(line 1) metro is really nice as well • The ticket officers(conductors) are assholes and like to get on turists.so just use the ticket but rather walk if it is an OK distance • You have to validate a ticket every time you change • 1euro=295HUF • If there is a guy travelling with you he shall not buy into girls saying they like him.might just want to steal him with taking him to a pricey bar and not being able to pay hence making the guy pay • If you feel that they want to overcharge you at a restaurant do not let them.Call me( +3620 522 9120) or my dad(+36 20 929 3346) • But have fun
