This definition may take the form of: 1) Textbook definition of the term 2) Practical application of what it looks like in the classroom. 3) An analogy or metaphor

Share your response with someone who attempted a different mode of defining Differentiation. Create an alternate definition based on their response. Has your original understanding of Differentiation changed? Is it stronger? Why did you choose your original response?
Differentiation Defined Differentiated instruction is an organized, yet flexible way to proactively adjusting teaching and learning to meet the students where they are and help them to achieve maximum growth as learners. The Differentiated Classroom p. 14. Differentiation enables students to express their understanding of essential content through a variety of methods. A differentiated classroom is a garden. Not all of the plants thrive on the same levels of water and sunlight.
Why is it necessary? Every student is different and have different needs. The diversity of the classroom has changed over the last decade. Enables teachers to challenge advanced students, while strengthening all learners.
