  1. Pax Miles Militis Peaceful Soldier “…and in his heart beat the very drums of war. Not for any battle here on Earth… but the one for his own peace of mind.” -B.Stebbins

  2. Hopes and dreams for 2014… a company that hopes to change the future of Veteran care… HONOR Pax Miles Militis, LLC Integrity Trust

  3. What do we do here? Here at Pax Miles we understand that there’s a SERIOUS GAP that needs to be filled between the services you are entitled to and how you get them….

  4. We Know What’s Available…. • AND HOW TO GET IT! • We know you are entitled to services and resources and that it is hard to ask for help. • We know everyone promises help and that they say that there is help available, but where is it? • We know what you have done for us and that you deserve more than promises, flyers and phone numbers. We know jumping through the hoops can be more than you can bear… we have been there!

  5. Our Story… • Meet your founders: My name is Brandi Stebbins. I look happy here. I was once, not too long ago, homeless with my fiancé Nick. He is a 16 year Navy Seabee Veteran. We were homeless for 7 months and jumped through many hoops for services he should have been able to receive easily. We had to stay in motels that we could only afford because I worked as a waitress, the only job I could find at the time, although I have a bachelors degree. A few cold winter nights we even had to sleep in our car!

  6. Seabee Meet Nick… Nick is a 16 year Navy Veteran and a Seabee. Although he has a vast array of knowledge and largely varied and valuable skill set gained from being a Navy Seabee, he doesn’t have a college degree. This means employers overlook him as they are unaware of what military service means a lot of the time. A fact we are hoping to change for him, as well as all Veterans. While we were homeless, he tried to get resources for us from various agencies supposedly dedicated to helping veterans. During this time. we encountered rude, bitter, unfriendly people who seemed not only unwilling to help, but who seemed to not have served in the military at all. Our staff will be comprised of over 90% Military Personnel, from all branches of the military.

  7. We have been where you are! • Pax Miles Militis means peaceful soldier in Latin, we chose this because that’s what you are, home, peaceful. But we know peace can be hard to achieve. • Nightmares plague sleep, daytime thoughts, and every waking moment can be filled with the thoughts of those lost and those you fought side by side with. • We know that coming home is a long process and that asking for help is simply not something you’re “trained” to do, after all, you were actually trained to fight FOR us, not to ask for help FROM us.

  8. That’s why we aren’t help… • We are brotherhood. • We will be providing internships that are guaranteed to lead to jobs! • A program that helps you to build a community of brothers and sisters that you can reach out to and stay close to. • A “family” connection that you built in service that you can build again here and hang on to and utilize to help you to stay connected.

  9. We are brotherhood… • We will bridge the gap between you and the services you are entitled to! • There are many services that are provided to you by the United States that you are unaware of and disconnected from. We will bridge that gap and get you to them! • Most of the services are downtown Detroit, but we will are centering our services Downriver, where the services and connections are more scarce.

  10. We are bridging the gap! • We will provide transportation and housing! • There are many shelters and shuttles…downtown. What about downriver? We plan to provide transitional sheltering downriver, a different kind of shelter… one that provides a “home-like” environment for a period of time while you get on your feet. For individuals and families. For days, weeks, or even up to 90 days! • We’ve been to the shelters! Laying on a floor with little more than your own blanket between you and a cement floor. Although big hearted and good intentioned, there needs to be more for our veterans.

  11. Transportation • We believe in brotherhood there is strength! • By providing group transportation to resources, like food pantries, it makes it easier to get the help we are entitled to. • We will also provide transportation doctor appointments, to and from the Veterans Hospital, and other such resources. • Transportation doesn’t stop there, there is a list of available routes within the company!

  12. The Program • Pax Miles has pioneered a program, 90 days in length in which the Veteran in taken in and assessed for services needed. • Then Housing, internship (for a job), medical care, even food and clothing, and any other services needed are assessed and given. • Assessments are done at 30, 60, and 90 days are done to see what kind of progress is being done and if the Veteran is “stuck” or progressing successfully and to ensure that the people providing the services are doing so in an efficient manner. • Pax Miles is dedicated to acting as a “go between” the Veteran and the services so that “jumping through hoops” is no longer being done by the veteran. We will communicate with the services and ensure that paperwork is done for you and services are provided in a timely and efficient manner. • We want you to succeed and eventually reintegrate you into civilian life as a successful, productive, and happy member of society.

  13. There’s More… • There’s a lot more!!!! • But we will explain when we see you! • Be sure to fill out an interest form and we will contact you as soon as possible! ***We aren’t fully operational yet, our hope is to be fully up and running in 2014. Thank you for visiting!
