  1. ACTION PLAN MS. ZARTASHA AGHA JUNIOR VI MATHEMATICS PAF CHAPTER THE CITY SCHOOL

  2. Long term Goals Short Term Goals GOALS

  3. LONG TERM GOALS • To make students learn the use of integers in daily life and in mathematical concepts.

  4. SHORT TERM GOALS • To make students learn the use of number line to represent positive and negative numbers. • To make students add, subtract, divide or multiply integers independently.

  5. INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES AND TASKS

  6. REMEMBER UNDERSTAND APPLY ANALYZE EVALUATE CREATE BLOOM’STAXONOMY

  7. INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES AND TASKS STRATEGY TASK • Will prepare a list of opposites around us. • Ask the students input on opposites

  8. OPPOSITES • Dark • Good • Right • West • North • Up • Above • Loss • Light • Bad • Left • East • South • Down • Below • Gain If one of the opposites is positive, the other will be negative Gain is always positive and loss is always negative

  9. INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES AND TASKS STRATEGY TASK • I will draw a number line to explain positive and negative numbers. • Collect different pictures to show them where we use number line in daily life.

  10. INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES AND TASKS STRATEGY TASKS • Collect as many examples • around us as • possible. • Will give them numerous examples relating matters of daily life, where we use integers.

  11. INTEGERS IN OUR DAILY LIFE • Banking • Direction • Temperature • Negative marking in exams • Trends • Weather reports

  12. INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES AND TASKS STRATEGY TASKS • Will show them many examples on the problems relating to integers. • Prepare examples both difficult and easy.

  13. RULES OF INTEGERS When signs are same we add the numbers When signs are different we subtract the numbers +3 -15 = -12 -3 +15 = +12 -13 -5 = -18 13 + 5 = 18 + X + = + - X - = + + X - = - - X + = _ The sign of bigger number is always written in the answer

  14. INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES AND TASKS STRATEGY TASKS • After giving examples relating to problems of integers, I will ask them to tell me how to solve the next. • Take weekly quiz to evaluate their understanding. • Prepare many questions regarding the process which will enhance their higher order thinking. • Prepare weekly quiz.

  15. WEEKLY QUIZ Q1. Draw a number line and illustrate the set of integers greater than -4 but less than 7. [2] Q2. Solve 280 + (-120) – (- 320) + 50 [3] Q3. Solve (-8) X (-4) – (-5) X 3 [3] Q4. Solve 625 ÷ ( -25 ) [2]

  16. INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES AND TASKS STRATEGY TASK • Will assign them questions from their text book and workbook to solve. Apart from that I will give them worksheets to solve. • Prepare as many worksheets as possible. Prepare assignments for them.

  17. ASSIGNMENTS • New Syllabus Mathematics 1 Chapter 2 Integers • Ex 2a • Ex 2b • Ex 2c • Ex 2d • Work book 1 • Page # 13 Q1 – 10 • Page # 14 Q11 - 28

  18. CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS

  19. SOLUTIONS AND CHALLENGES CHALLENGE SOLUTION • Students may not understand the use of positive and negative signs. • Students find it difficult and may not take interest. • More examples will be given to them as negative marking and temperature. • Some individual activity will be done to motivate students.

  20. ACKNOWLEDGMENT I would like to thank our school administration and specially our Head Mistress Ms. Neelam Baray and Senior Mistress Ms. Humera Adil for helping us and facilitating us through out the making of this action plan.
