3. Katelyn Jane. A name poem. Katelyn means pure beauty Jane means a woman So together Katelyn Jane means a pure, beautiful woman. Is this true? Will I ever fulfill my name? Or will I just wear it out.

4. Brokenness: I am poem I am broken yet complete with you. I wonder, everyday, if we will ever be together. I hear you tell me that you love me, and I can see that you do. I want to be with you for the rest of forever. I am broken yet complete with you. I pretend to be happy by always smiling, yet I feel as if I'm slowly fading away. I wish that I can hold you in my arms forever so I can be whole once more. I worry that things will soon be no more. I cry myself to sleep at night thinking those thoughts. I am broken yet complete with you. I understand how you want the same things I do,, I say what's meant to be isn't soon to be. I dream of us, growing old together. I try everyday to be happy. I hope one day you can see me walk down the isle. I am Katelyn Jane Henning.

5. Memories. I am from poem. I am from “You lie like a rug” and “You’ve made up that bed, now you have to lie in it” and “Go clean your room.” I am from Grandmas Sweet Potato Casserole and 4-layer Simplicity Dessert. I am from Mawmaw’s Fried Okra and Aunt Wendy’s Banana Pudding. I am from the endless diaries filling my bookshelf, completely full notebooks hidden in my drawers, and the many, many pictures overflowing my house. I am from shot glasses in the cabinet, picture frames overflowing the house, and the little key holder in the front room. I am from dog bones buried in the backyard to be waited on till later, empty patches of grass where the grass forgot to grow, and trees with leaves that dance effortlessly in the wind. I am from playing Uno and Banana Grams all day long with Mawmaw and Pawpaw and swimming with Alex and Brandon.

Flowers climb to get closer the sun Becoming big and beautiful But become sad when they're the last one Since this is no longer blissful Water flows from place to place Making everything plentiful Which is not a disgrace Knowing that’s its wonderful. The leaves dance in the wind Only then to fall to their death On the stone hard ground, as if they’ve sinned Without taking a last breath. Trees grow high in the sky As if they’re attempting to mock skyscrapers Then once winter comes, they say their final goodbye To the arrival of the bone chilling vapor.

19. About the Author. My name is Katelyn Jane Henning. I am fourteen years old and a freshman at East Lincoln High School. I am currently a gymnast at Lake Norman Gymnastics Academy. I have done gymnastics for the past four years. I am the North Carolina State Beam Champion of 2010 and 2012. I have a little sister named Ashleigh, who is 8 years old.
