ICT in education @ UvA • Expert group within the Information Technology Centrestarted in 1999 as a “small” project • staff members are educational technologists with a focus on both the technology and the didactics of ICT in education • In 2006 a new department (ODG) will be operational combining the expertise of web developers, educational technologist & specialist in the realm of video & sound. Goal: stimulating, supporting and coordinating the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in education & research

UvA targets & activities • In 2005 & 2006 several pilots have been conducted with Sakai & OSPThe scope of pilots was to test the functional and technical abilities of the products • UvA & SURF cooperation (2005 & 2006): Monitoring SakaiIn 2007 Sakai will be thoroughly analysed • New activities • OSP 2.2 educational pilots • In January 2007 an OSP production environment. • A series of round table discussions with students & teachers on their needs and expectations on the future of the e-learning landscape of the • Intensive involvement in the Sakai/OSP community • Active participation in the Dutch SURF Sakai SIG • Sakai lab with teachers and students
