What Is MIS • Management Information Systems: the development and use of information systems that help business achieve their goals and objectives
Information System • System: a group of components that interact to achieve some purpose • Information system (IS): a group of components that interact to produce information • IS: computer-based information system • High-tech versus low-tech IS

Information Technology (IT) • Products, methods, inventions, and standards that are used for the purpose of producing information
