IPIC is one of the largest academic units of Kazan Federal University, offering programs in Russian and foreign philology, Tatar philology, and intercultural communication. We aim to train highly-qualified specialists in philology, arts, and intercultural communication.

The historical roots of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication (IPIC) go back to 1804, when the department of philology was founded in Kazan Imperial University
Today IPIC is one of the largest academic units of Kazan Federal University with about 400 members of academic and administrative staff, including64 specialists with Doctorate Degree and 215 – with Candidate Degree, 7 lecturers from Spain, Germany, the USA and Poland
About 3 thousand students, • more than 100 post-graduates and 11 doctoral students • get education on 11 specialties
Every year about 40 Candidate and Doctoral dissertations are successfully defended by candidates
There are 3 divisions: • Division of Russian and Foreign Philology named after L.N. Tolstoy • Division of Tatar Philology and Intercultural Communication named after GabdullaTukay • High School of Arts named after SalikhSaidashev

KAZAN INTERNATIONAL LINGUISTIC CENTRE (КILC) • Language courses: English, German, French, Spanish, Tatar, Russian languages • Courses on Tatar and Russian Literature For students, schoolchildren, civil service officers, teachers, residents (more than 650 listeners in 2013). Aim: preparing for state unified exams, preparing for Olympiads, career development. Meeting with the President of the Republic of Tatarstan R.N. Minnikhanov and rector of KFU I.R. Gafurov with the listeners of Tatar language courses
