Masterclass Menu • Menu of around 14 ‘Masterclasses’. • Masterclasses timetabled for 2 periods per week. • S3 pupils will select one Masterclass for Jun/Dec and another for Jan/Jun. • Many will cover ‘Technology’ or ‘Expressive Arts’. • Pupils missing either of these from main choice will be directed to an appropriate Masterclass to complete their Broad General Education. • Masterclasses give opportunity for Interdisciplinary Learning and some are accredited. • Pupils will select from the Masterclass Menu in May, once their main subject choice has been confirmed.

S3 Curriculum – Firm Foundation • Fourth level work as part of BGE – but also begin looking at work for Nat 4 and Nat 5 courses in S4. • There will be a reduction in subjects studied in S4 from the 8 in S3, possible to 7, possibly to 6. • Pupils will be discouraged from picking ‘fresh’ subjects for S4.

  17. Procedure • Pre interview option form completed at home and ready for 5th February. • Interview with Pupil Support Teacher 5th February– 21st February. Pupils given Post interview option form for parents to sign. • Post interview option form signed and returned by 28th February.

  21. What do you do? • Your child’s report (January) • Consultation Evening (4.30 – 6.30 30th January) • Family discussion • Complete and sign the Pre-interview Option Form (by 5th February) • Sign and return the Post-interview Option Form. (by 28th February)

  22. What do I do? • Collate the data from 230 Option Forms. • Construct classes and a timetable allowing the majority to follow chosen curriculum. • Liaise with Pupils, Parents and Pupil Support over individual snags. • THANKS FOR LISTENING
