The history of the bay project • 5 years ago a legacy was left to the Salvation army too support the children of Herne Bay • The Salvation Army decided that the money will go to project supporting children, youth and their families under the umbrella of the Bay Project • 3 posts have been made available for 5 years

  3. What's happening so far ... • Ozone 30 young people 12-17 year olds on a Friday night • Engage Youth club on a Sunday night (church orientated). • Lighthouse 25 young people 7-11 year olds on a Thursday after School. • Scallywags 40 children 0-4 year olds on 2 mornings a week plus 35 parents/carers

  4. New initiatives • Talk of the town ... Once a month. • 150 young people getting their groove on This should double in the next few months • Sexual health clinic and information zone.

  5. What Does this mean? • 300 to 400 families having some form of contact with local church members a months

  6. A little ahead ... Beacons and Lighthouse: we are looking to split lighthouse in half with Beacons for the 6 to 8 age range and lighthouse to continue to work with the 9 – 11 year olds Youth worker drop in

  7. In the future ... • Looking to run a youth club 4 nights a week • Teenage mums crèche support • Supporting local young carers • Friday night (late) ‘SUP’

  9. Things to pray for • Interviews this Tuesday and Wednesday for the family support worker and the youth worker. • Late night Friday Project • Work to support other churches • Talk of the Town (Teen Fusion) • Sexual health clinic and drop in zone
