Lakes, rivers and ponds
Our habitat is the pond. A pond is a small area of still fresh water. Ponds are like small worlds. It smells very bad. It doesn't take up much space. If you go inside a pond it would be very cold. Ponds can be very deep so be safe and never go alone. It differs from a river or a stream because it does not have moving water and it differs from a lake because it has a small area.
Some plants of the pond are water lilies, cattails, and water lily tuber .Some animals that live in the pond are yellow perch, catfish, and bass. There are many interactions within the pond habitat. One interaction is between animals to plants. The fish in a pond eat the bacteria and algae that are on the surface of the pond.
An Interesting fact that we learned is many different food chains can be found in a pond because each animal eats different things.
