  2. Elisha was a very good teacher who always had an audience because his lessons were sweet and useful.

  3. At the time there was a famine in the land because the rain did not fall... ...Elisha invited his listeners to his house for dinner so that he can provide satisfy their appetite with the spiritual food he gives them.

  4. This dinner party needed preparation, so Elisha asked his Gehazi to prepare the meal... ...But Gehazi was a lazy disciple and instead of going to the fields to get the fruits, he found a vine close by and from it he picked as many Gourds as he could carry. This food was bitter and poisonous.

  5. The men felt the food was poisoned and Elisha knew what happened by the Spirit. He said to them “Do not be afraid as God says ‘And if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them’” Elisha brought some flour and threw it into the pot and everybody ate and was not harmed.
