  2. Mythology Highlights • Hera did not like Hercules and wanted to kill him so she sent Cancer the crab to help a water serpent defeat him. Hercules smashed the crab’s shell and Hera rewarded the crab for its services by placing its image in the sky.

  3. Where is it? • Cancer is located between Gemini (to the West) and Leo (to the East). Lynx is to the North and Hydra is to the South. • Cancer's most distinctive feature is the open star cluster Praesepe, popularly known as the Beehive, visible to the naked eye. a • The Sun passes through the constellation during late July and early Augusts. nebulous patch.
