Math Madness Purpose • Prepare students for PSSA • Similar format of questions • Similar scoring procedures • Challenge students with problems focusing on higher level thinking skills • Motivate students while building self confidence
Math Madness School-Wide Tournament Overview • Rounds 1 and 9 • Students problem solve in heterogeneous groups • Rounds 2 through 8 • Students work individually • Rounds scored by scoring teams • Various administrators and retired teachers • Community members

Math Madness OverviewOur Closing Celebration • Each student receives a certificate of participation • Top team in each classroom receives an achievement ribbon • 4th through 10th place receives medals • Top 3 students received trophies • Random drawing for 5 basketballs • Members from the high school basketball team perform a skit and sign autographs
Our Fourth Annual Regional Tournament • Coming in April 2011 • Hosted at York College • Top four individual scorers will represent their school • Awards and prizes will be provided
