Objectives of Target Setting • To raise awareness amongst students on their individual potential • Guide students using targets as a goal they should work towards
Creating a Scaffold for Progress • Each student will be given an initial target grade for all subjects he or she offers • The initial targets are set for a student based on his or her PSLE results and our school’s performance in National Examinations • Once a target is reached, the teachers and parents can revise the target upwards
Performance – tracking progress • Students enter their targets into their school diary. After every test, the students compare their results against their targets to keep track of their performance • Teachers use class contact time and other times to discuss with the students on their targets and guide the students to work towards achieving them
