IIRR & VLSA Partners organized 2 learning visit to best practice site in Yatta • 2 partner staff organized 3 visits for colleagues and family at their own cost • 4 learners supported implemented new livelihood project • It is expected that the beneficiary households will have increased productivity & incomes • It is expected that these beneficiary HHs will be model training centers
IIRR & VLSA Partners agree to replicate Community training and Adaptive training centers in 4 Counties • The two (2) centers will offer the Community transformation & resilience building training • Centers will train & mentor Farmers to farm as a business • SH farmers will have resources to pay school fees, health and make investments • Farmers Incomes will increase
CCA projects will be developed 1 IIRR & 1 VLSA partner staff do e-course on mainstreaming CCA in dev. Planning • The partners mainstream CCA in programs and projects • VLSA partners and supported famers adopt climate smart technologies • Farmers are more resilient through increased productivity and incomes
Thenewly formed forums, will lobby for policy change in access to extension & advisory services IIRR & VLSA partners organized one policy Roundtable on agri-business 21 state and non state actors • The partners will join hands with County leaders to form joint forums in 3 Counties • SH Farmers have access to affordable extension & advisory services • SH Farmers’ incomes increase
Policy Round tables will be held to promote adoption of the technologies IIRR & VLSA Partners plan for a Sharefair on Rural Women’s technologies and innovations in Oct. 2014 • Technologies will be documented and disseminated • More Rural women use the labor saving & productivity improvement technologies • Empowered rural women have more incomes to meet HH needs
IIRR conducts impact evaluation of the TOT conducted in 2013 (results being analyzed)
IIRR and VLSA partners develop an online learning platform • Under construction
Compile report on “status of livelihood promotion in Kenya” (in progress)
