CPCC Timesheet Training…The Basics • Classified Staff = Non-Exempt • Professional • Administrative = Exempt • Faculty • Each position is classified based on duties and federal regulations
CPCC Timesheet Training: Important to Know • What is a workweek? • Whatever 7 day period that is defined by the employer. • At CPCC, Sunday through Saturday • Overtime vs. Compensatory Time (Comp Time) • Overtime: additional pay • Comp Time: time banked for future use
CPCC Timesheet TrainingComp Time • How is comp time earned? • After employee works more than 40 hours • Earned at the rate of 1.5 hours for each hour worked above 40 • Should be taken within 30 days after it is earned. May substitute for vacation or sick leave
CPCC Timesheet Training Coded Hours • Coded hours are hours away from work • Sick leave, vacation leave, jury duty, holiday, comp time, military • Sick, vacation and bonus leaves cannot have negative balances • Accruals are earned at the end of the month and cannot be taken until the following month or later
Timesheet TrainingCoded Hours • Personal days are available to 10-month faculty only (4 per fiscal year) • Necessity leave can be used for purposes as allowed by PPM Policy 4.21, but mainly for the 2 days when the college is closed during the holiday break in December
Timesheet TrainingFMLA • Family and Medical Leave Act – Guarantees 12 weeks per year in paid or unpaid leave for birth or adoption of a child or serious illness of employee or immediate family member • Contact HR to apply and indicate on timesheet. • Family and Medical Leave runs concurrently with sick, vacation, worker’s comp, etc. for up to 480 hours during a 12-month rolling period. • All leaves eligible as family or medical leaves must be designated as FMLA according to federal statute, not optional.
Timesheet Training • CPCC Timesheets: • Exempt or Non-exempt • Available on the HR website at the beginning of the month • Due in HR by the third business day of the month

Complete your Demographic Information… • Enter your Employee ID which is now available by clicking on the link on the timesheet, on the HR website or your pay stub. • For privacy reasons do not use your Social Security number
