  2. Introduction • Introduce Dragon Boat Festival and customs of Dragon Boat Festival. • It began that Chu Yuan committed suicide by drowning himself in Miluo River.

  3. History • Chu Yuan was a patriotic statesman. • Chu Yuan took his life by jumping into the Miluo River.

  4. Sachet（香包） • Believed to bring luck and repel evil. • It made from colored silk material and fill with aromatic flowers herbs.

  5. Protect their health during this dangerous time. Prevent pestilence and strengthen health. Moxa（艾草）

  6. Keep the fish from eating the Chu Yuan body Pork, peanuts,salted eggs and other fillings….and so on( over time these Zong zi gradually evolving into the modern day) Zong zi（粽子）

  7. Hsiung huang wine（雄黃酒） • Made by mixing the mineral hsiung huang together with rice wine. • Hsiung huang wine is said to cure illness when taken in small amounts

  8. A drummer and flag-catcher stand at the front of the boat. Commemorating the famous poet-statesman Chu Yuan. Dragon Boat（龍舟）

  9. Conclusion • Driving off evil spirits • Has the longest history • It has continued unbroken for centuries to the prestent
