Mammals Mammals are a class of vertebrates characterised by warm-blood, hairy bodies, a four-chambered heart, a single jaw bone, sweat glands and - in females - mammary glands for suckling young. Some mammals, such as naked mole rats and whales have lost some or all of their hair. Almost all mammals give birth to live young, but there are a few that lay eggs. These are known as monotremes, and include the platypus
Fish A fish is any member of a paraphyletic group of organisms that consist of all gill-bearing aquatic craniate animals that lack limbs with digits. Included in this definition are the living hagfish, lampreys, and cartilaginous and bony fish, as well as various extinct related groups. Most fish are ectothermic ("cold-blooded"), allowing their body temperatures to vary as ambient temperatures change, though some of the large active swimmers like white shark and tuna can hold a higher core temperature.[1][2] Fish are abundant in most bodies of water. They can be found in nearly all aquatic environments, from high mountain streams (e.g., char and gudgeon) to the abyssal and even hadal depths of the deepest oceans (e.g., gulpers and anglerfish). At 32,000 species, fish exhibit greater species diversity than any other group of vertebrates .
Amphibians The word amphibian means two-lives. Amphibians spend their lives in the water and on land. All amphibians begin their life in water with gills and tails. As they grow, they develop lungs and legs for their life on All amphibians begin their life in water with gills and tails. As they grow, they develop lungs and legs for their life on land. There are more than 4,000 different kinds of amphibians. Members of this animal class are frogs, toads, salamanders, newts, and caecilians or blindworms.
Birds Birds are a class of vertebrates. They are bipedal, warm-blooded, have a covering of feathers, and their front limbs are modified into wings. Some birds, such as penguins and ostriches, have lost the power of flight. All birds lay eggs. Because birds are warm-blooded, their eggs have to be incubated to keep the embryos inside warm, or they will perish.
Reptiles The reptiles are a class of vertebrates. Charateristically they are cold-blooded, have dry scaly or horny skin and a four-chambered heart. Most reptiles lay eggs with leathery shells, but a few types bear live young. Because they are cold-blooded, reptiles are more common in the tropics than in temperate regions and are not found in polar areas.
Arthropods Arthropods are invertebrate animals that have an external, jointed skeleton usually known as a carapace. The phylum includes insects, crustaceans, centipedes, millipedes, spiders, scorpions and horseshoe crabs. The carapace has to be shed and regrown periodically as the animal grows larger.
Carnivors Carnivores are predators. They hunt and eat other animals to survive. Mammals that are carnivores have sharp teeth adapted for ripping meat from a carcass. Carnivores like the wolf have large, powerful jaws that help bring down large animals like deer. The bobcat and cougar have powerful paws with sharp claws that help them catch prey.
About the power point This power point tells you what kind animal groups there are it also explains what they eat, how they live and also where a bout's in the world they were born but that’s not all cause it tells you if they are dangerous or not. By ayantu g and anisa m
