  1. Activities • Competitions in pool, snooker, table tennis, darts, air rifle, laser zone, paintball, cricket, football, futsal, boxing, netball and volleyball, some of which progress to regional and national rounds. • Weekend camps all across the UK. • 100 mile canoe test, Water Sports weekend. • Extreme sports such as Kayaking, Climbing, Mountain Walking, Caving, Skiing and Snowboarding. • Residential trips abroad including a yearly ski trip to either Austria, Italy or France. • Sports camps and taster sessions. • All activities are either free or heavily subsidised by CYP. • We will try to organise any activity or event that a member club or clubs requests.

  3. Vocational Skills Programme We run a vocational skills programme for young people aged 14 to 16 years that are excluded from or part time in school. The programme enables young people to: • Gain accredited qualifications. • Learn life skills. • Participate and learn about Sports, Boxing, health and fitness. • Access Mentoring. • Learn and Achieve in an alternative environment. Currently 60 young people per week attend our programme and we are contracted with Sheffield City Council to enable us to deliver this programme.

  6. Volunteer Support • V. Programme to help recruit volunteers • Assist in Training of Volunteers. • Advise on Recruitment Process. • Retaining and Recognition

  7. Work Related Counselling • Talk to someone in confidence. • Discuss sensitive issues. • Pop in for a coffee and chat. • Phone up and let off steam.

  8. National Citizenship Service • 5 week summer course to support young people personal and social development and to help build a more integrated responsible and engaged society. • Available to y 11 school leavers. • Accredited by ASDAN – 50 UCAS points available • Nationally recognised certificate • 2 residentials • 30 hours social action • Meet new friends learn new skills • Opportunity to become part of the SYCYP young advisors • Only £50 pp

Realising Ambition Realising Ambition programme aims to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people at risk of becoming involved in crime, to enable them to fulfil their potential. The Realising Ambition programme seeks to achieve the following outcomes: • More children and young people benefit from opportunities and support to fulfil their potential, avoiding pathways into offending. • Organisations working with children and young people have better evidence of what works in avoiding pathways into youth offending and are able to replicate the most effective approaches. • Big Lottery and others learn about how they can best identify and support the replication of proven practice.

  10. Young Advisors • South Yorkshire CYP Young Advisors are young people who show community leaders and decision makers how to engage young people in community life. They make sure Young People are given the chance to be involved in decision making and influencing change, regeneration and renewal. • SYCYP Young Advisors are trained and employed consultants who guide local authorities, housing associations and other local partners about what it is like for a young person to live, work, learn and play in their neighborhoods. They are the Voice for Young people in our area, and teach Professionals how best to engage with young people. • They will help organisation’s 'youth proof' their practices, policies, strategies and commissioning. • They will help you understand how to attract and maintain the interests of young people. • They will speak out for young people, making sure their thoughts and feelings are considered in decisions that affect them. • They will work both locally and nationally to share good practice and learn from others. • They will engage directly with other young people to get them involved in neighborhood improvements.
