Objectives To be enable to voice their ideas about traffic and traffic problems To set up the consciousness of protecting environment To interact and cooperate with others in a group To learn to search for information and organise it To practise using WPS to present their work clearly
Possible problems Resources used: The internet, books, magazines, newspapers, dictionary, TV, pictures and photos, WPS, etc. The topics may be too broad, and students may have limited imagination and knowlege to finish the work. Some students may find it difficult to prioritize all the information they can find and organise it.
In order to hold students’concern and manage the activities more effectively, I introduce the following situations and highlightthe key information. • Process
Introduction In the early period, people use horses, camels, carriages etc. to carry people or goods from one place to another. In order to be much easier and quicker, people invented vehicles. With the rapidincrease of cars, people often get stuck in traffic jams. Carbon monoxide produced by carspollutesthe air and affects ourhealth. Trafficis also one of the major causes ofglobal warmingand climate change.

Stages work in groups 1. choose a topic they are most interested in 2. use the internet and any other resources research relevant information about their topics 3. gather their research notes and discuss the information make writing plans for their topics 4. make sure that every memeber has a role to play 5. deal with mistakes and improve their work 6. find photos and other materials to support their presentaion 7. present their work to the class
