The TOCU Objectives 1.) To ensure that the public and staff feel safe using the bus infrastructure on agreed routes, corridors and other priority locations . 2.) To ensure the efficient movement of buses on agreed routes and corridors and other priority locations on the London Bus Network. 3.) To enforce the law relating to taxis and private hire vehicles within the MPD, to ensure the safety of the public, focusing on agreed priority locations. 4.) To assist the control and, where possible, the reduction of congestion at agreed priority locations within the MPD. 5.) To ensure the efficient movement of buses, other road traffic and other road users on the TLRN by, in particular, the enforcement of de-criminialised parking offences and moving vehicle contraventions.

Schools Enqs • IDENTIFY SUSPECTS • SCHOOLS ENQUIRIES • If a pack is related to Youths in School uniform a schools enquiry is made. This means visiting the school and showing the images to the Head and teachers. • We also work closely with the safer schools officers • THIS CAN ONLY BE DONE ONCE THE IMAGES HAVE BEEN CIRCULATED WITHIN THE POLICE COMMUNITY TO SATISFY P.A.C.E • If there is a clear image of a school blazer / badge / tie the schools database can be consulted.
What we look for • The Best shot of their face • Before damage occurs shot • A short series of storyboard pictures of the suspect causing damage • After shot of damage (If the on bus cameras do not show damage clearly then a digitalphoto is required)

ID Sought (Bustag ref 2489) Swallow Tattoo on Left Hand This male is sought in connection with a Violent Criminal damage on a packed route 57 bus. He is believed to live near Aldrington Road SW16 as he gets off near here and turns left into that road. Operation Bustag have also assisted in a number of investigations where young people have been the victim These crimes have included1. Videoed assaults (happy slapping)2. Indecent assaults (male and female)3. Robberies4. Attempted murder/Serious assaultsOperation Bustag also assisted the Anti Terrorist Branch in arranging and liaising with the Bus Operating Companies to retrieve hundreds of hours of CCTV footage from their buses.
Most recently we have had Media students from Chadwell Heath Foundation School visit us to make a short film about Graffiti and anti social behaviour in their area. This is part of “Breaking The News” a competition being run for Channel Four where students were asked to make a short film about issues or problems that affect their local area.
