Uniforms • Pants/Walking Shorts/Skorts/Skirts: • Solid tan or black • No low-rise, bagging, sagging, or dragging • No cuffs in the pant legs • No jeans, cargo/carpenter pants, leggings, or sweatpants of any kind • Shorts/Skorts/Skirts must be at least fingertip length • No boxers, running shorts, or denim of any • Shirt Styles: • Polo-style or t-shirts (solid short or long sleeve) in HTEC blue or gold colors. Shirts must be purchased directly from the school. • No logos, designs, or pictures on shirts unless school logo • No bare waists, midriffs, bare backs, and/or low necklines permitted • Undershirts, if worn, must be solid white • Cold weather tops (i.e. crewneck sweatshirts and fleece) can be ordered in HTEC colors and should be worn.
Uniforms • Shoes: • Athletic shoes, leather shoes, and boots are all acceptable. • Sandals are permitted in warmer weather. • Unacceptable items: • Shorts, dresses, skirts, or other similar clothing shorter than mid-thigh length • Sunglasses, hats, or headscarves worn inside a building • Inappropriate Clothes • Inappropriate footwear such as bedroom slippers; flip flops may be worn at the discretion of the administration. (Principal or Assistant Principal)
Uniforms Inappropriate grooming or hygiene • Any clothing, paraphernalia, grooming, jewelry, hair coloring, accessories, or body adornments that are/or contain any words, symbols, or pictures that: Refer to drugs, gangs, tobacco, alcohol, or weapons Are of a sexual nature Otherwise disrupt the School’s mission in delivering educational services
CONSEQUENCES • 1st Offense: • Student will receive a verbal reminder. A phone call will be made to the parent/guardian. • If available, students will be required to wear a clean uniform from the reserve closet at the school, unless a parent/guardian brings a uniform from home. The student is expected to return the uniform to the school office at the end of the school day. • 2nd Consecutive Offense: • Parents/ guardians will be asked to bring an appropriate change of clothes. If they are unable to do so, students will be required to wear a clean uniform from the reserve closet at the school, if such a uniform is available. • Student will need to complete detention. • 3rd Consecutive Offense: At the discretion of the Principal.
