How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
CD Cover’s This is our front cover for our final CD cover we decided to go with as a group. This image was chosen by all of us overall as we felt it had a more of an front cover type of theme. We felt the black and white shading made the image look more urban and arty. It looks grittier and more suited to the audience that would most likely buy our CD. He is wearing the same clothes for the front cover in the music video. We did this to make it have a sense of connection, we looked at other CD covers for albums and a few do this to add a sense of consistency to the final product. This is my front cover
Our group selected back over follows the same conventions as our front cover in similar black and white styling. As you can see to try and incorporate our artist in it we have 3 question mark symbols to show it is our artist our artist is called ‘Question999’. The background is of an estate we took a picture of to get feeling for the type of music that is going to be in the album. Pain, disappointment, struggle, living, life, crime and coming through thoughs things unscathed, but them influencing life.
What is a Digi-pack? A digi-pack is basically the synergy and consistency of imagery and synergy between the product. They basically help the artist establish market and consistency with the products. This also can help to establish the right audience for your product. Our digi-pack basically targets thoughs who listen to rap/hip-hop music and who have been through a struggle.. This could could target working class people who have to struggle to make ends meat and live a rough lifestyle. The age group/demographic is probably young urban males aged from 12-24, although this can vary on the persons taste in music and what they have been through.
Synergy and Identifying it Synergy is the interaction or cooperation of two or more organizations, substances, or other agents to produce a combined effect greater than then before. For example “the synergy between artist and record company” or the synergy between “the employee and the work place”. Identifying synergy is not as simple as it may seem. Different things combine to create different types of synergy in different types of environments. For example having a hard core rock song on the top of a ice cold mountain in Antarctica have no synergy, but a hard core rock/heavy metal song set in a concert with thousand of fans cheering has alot of synergy.
