The Foe: Bitterness Ephesians 4:31-32 • Bitterness is the belief that God is getting it wrong. • The Friend: Faith – The belief that God is getting it right. • Habbakkuk 2:4 Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him, but the righteous shall live by his faith.
The Habit:Kindness Ephesians 4:31-32 • It is difficult to be overwhelmed by bitterness when you are also being kind. • When we show kindness, God is putting things right through us. • When we show compassion, God is putting things right through us. • When we forgive, God is putting things right through us.
The Foe: Anxiety Philippians 4:6-7 • Anxiety is the belief that God will get it wrong. • The Friend: Hope – The belief that God will get it right. • Lamentations 3:21-23 But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
The Habit: Prayer Philippians 4:6-7 • It is difficult to be overwhelmed by anxiety when you pray. • When you pray, you make your anxiety known. • When you make anxiety known, God gives you peace. • When God gives you peace, God guards your heart and mind.
