Read the day’s objectives, log in homework in your agenda, and begin the warm-up assignment. • Have all materials ready to work & stay on task! • Give your BEST effort on every assignment! • If you were absent, get your make-up work from • the Work folders. Turn in absentee work in the bin • & check for returned work in the Returned Work bin. Never • place work on my desk! All work goes in the bins!! • Cell phones must be off during class UNLESS I give permission to use for academic purposes Tests/Major Assessments: 40% Quizzes: 30% Classwork:20% Homework:10% No Extra Credit or Bonus Points will be given per New WMS Grading Policy. Grading Policy In Class Late Work Policy: HW assignments are due when class begins on their assigned due date. If CW is not complete by the end of the period, you may be asked to complete it at home and return it the next day. Should you NOT have an assignment when it is due, you MUST complete the Assignment MIA form and submit it in lieu of your work that day. All missing assignments will have a 3 day grace period in which you will receive a maximum grade of 80% when submitted. If assignments are submitted after 3 days, but at least 5 days prior to the end of the quarter, you will receive a score of 50%. Late projects and major assessments will be graded with a 5% deduction per day, with a minimum score of 50%. All work will be graded for accuracy before late deductions are taken. Social Studies Class begins when the tardy bell rings. Class ends when I dismiss you. You should use the restroom between class. Restroom passes will be given for emergencies ONLY! You will NOT be allowed to go back to your locker once class begins. Ms. DeBose Patriotic Wolves Positive attitudes & behaviors are appreciated and will be acknowledged! Negative attitudes and disruptive behaviors will receive consequences according to the WMS Discipline Infraction Policy. Grade Recovery Plan: All students will be allowed to complete a test corrections assignment to improve their TEST scores. Half credit will be given for each response which indicates the correct answer and follows the instructions of the assignment. I am also available during Think Tank Tuesday for extra help if needed. Speaking/blurting • out when others are talking, talking or being • disruptive during instruction, picking • on/bullying/harassing your peers, taking • things that do NOT belong to you without • permission. • Messy Classrooms: Clean your desk • area of scrap paper, pencil shavings, etc. prior • to exiting class. • Not complying with teacher requests: Do what is asked of you! If you do not understand why, then ask, but NEVER ignore a request by a teacher. If I ask more than twice, expect a consequence. • Vandalism: Take care of the materials you borrow. Do NOT break the pencils or colored pencils, do NOT write on the walls, books, or desks, and do not rock back in your chair as it will weaken/break the legs. • No Name Papers: By now, this should NOT be an issue. Put your name in the upper right hand of your paper when you first receive it! What does my grade mean? 93- A B C D F • I understand & can help others understand. • Assignment is neat and complete. • Excellent effort and attention to detail was put into the assignment. 100 85- 92 • I understand. • Assignment is mostly neat and the overwhelming majority of the assignment is complete. • Good effort and attention to detail was put into the assignment. 77- 82 • I understand some. • Assignment could be neater and at least ¾ of the assignment is complete. • Some effort and attention to detail was put into the assignment. • I may need to ask questions. 70- 76 • I understand very little. • Assignment is messy and mostly incomplete. • Very little effort and attention to detail was put into the assignment. • I NEED to ask questions and ask for help.
