Mrs. Sonya Dodginghorse 5B February News 2018 Teacher Contact sdhorse@tsuutinaeducation.com, 403-992-7742 • Math – Patterns & Algebra – Division • Reading– We are currently reading the Novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz & will begin the Novel Wonder February 20. Also, we will be starting the Read 180 program Feb 20th. • Writing –GrammarScience – We are learning about Weather and will begin Electricity and Magnetism. • Social Studies – We are learning about the St. Lawrence Lowlands Region and will begin the Canadian Shield • Health – Meditation, Mindfulness, Positive and Negative Attention. Bullying awareness. We are also creating a video called The Juice Box Bully. • Gym – Floor Hockey and Basketball Drills Homework Mondays Homework is sent home each Monday, and it is due on Friday. *The grade 5 B Mentorship program consists of incentive field trips based on Academics, Attendance, and Attitude. We will also have quest speakers whom are community role models to come in and speak to our class each month.   2. Tsuut’tina Communications Team On January 17ththe Tsuut’ina Communications visited our classroom. They shared stories about their lives and how they became a part of the communications team. They were truly inspiring. Thank you Serena, Mackenzie, Carmen, and Jordan for visiting our classroom! 

  3. Bullying Awareness February 28th is National Wear Pink Day, creating Bullying Awareness. Our class is bringing to life The Juice Box Bully to empower kids to stand up for others! We will present to the school once it is complete!
