Storage measurement units • What is bigger 10 or 100? • What is bigger 10TB or 100YB? • Is it just enough that you know that 1 YB = 1000 EB?
Storage Measurement Units • The basic measurement unit used for stored data in a computer is byte. • Bytes are also the smallest unit used and they represent one single character in a text file. • If you save a text file with the word HELLO in it, its file size would be 4 Bytes

Reasons • Can be fooled by someone telling you the computer has 1000 MB of RAM and sound a big number. • Can make a bad purchase if you think 100 GB is enough to download all your movies. • Can have trouble with CC or emails when trying to send an attached file. • Couldn’t differentiate between 10MB or 10 GB.
