Purpose The purpose was to develop switches that could be activated by (1) any sound, or (2) human phonation
Features • Activated by any sound or or by formants of human phonation • Adjustable for sound loudness or duration • Visual feedback on switch activation • Compatible with commercial AAC technology • Compatible with cell phone microphones or throat contact microphones.
Target Populations • Person who rely on AAC and can product intentional sound • Phonation • Lip smack • Tongue click • Persons with voice disorders • Monitor loudness and softness of voice • Persons with Parkinson’s disease • Monitor voice loudness
