SCHOOL CONCURRENCY UPDATE
State Requirements • With the passage of Senate Bill 360, the adoption of a Public School Facility Element and the implementation of school concurrency is no longer optional. • In Polk County, “non-exempt” local governments were given a deadline of March 1, 2008 to adopt the following: • Revised Interlocal Agreement for Public School Facility Planning • Public School Facilities Element
Current Status • School Board, BoCC and “non-exempt” cities have executed a revised Interlocal Agreement. • Local governments have adopted a Public School Facilities Element. • Department of Community Affairs has determined the documents are sufficient and in compliance with State requirements. • Land development regulations have been adopted or are in process.

Current Status • Polk County – First county in state to implement School Concurrency under the new legislation. • 1st on Time • 1st in Compliance
