  2. Boston University Sargent College Convocation 2016 Congratulations on your graduation! We are looking forward to celebrating with you on May 15th!

  3. Convocation Site and Time • The convocation and reception for Sargent College will be held in the Track & Tennis Center (TTC), 100 Ashford Street. • Carry your cap and gown into the TTC. • Lineup is at 8:30; please arrive promptly and get in line cheerfully.

  4. General Information • Please visit www.bu.edu/maps for directions to the Track and Tennis Center (it’s behind Star Market).

  5. Please check www.bu.edu/commencement/security-details/ for important information.

  6. Line-up Location *Lineup begins at 8:30am in TTC behind the track! Tassels should be placed on your right. Your degree is not officially conferred until President Brown does so (~3:00) at the BU ceremony. End of lines Start of student lines * Enter from Ashford St.

  7. Student Check-in • Line-up begins at 8:30am in the TTC behind the track. Follow signs to student line-up area. • Students must check in with program faculty! • Stay in your respective program line alphabetically once you’ve checked in.

  8. Doctoral degreecandidatescarry their hoods to the ceremony. • Drape hoods over the left arm with the cord/button left open. • Hand the hood to the faculty member on stage and he/she will perform the hooding.

  9.   10. Student Processional • Student marshals will lead in the student processional, after the faculty enter. • Undergraduates and graduates will enter, walking side by side in two lines.

  12. Student Seating Student marshals will sit in the RIGHT front row facing stage Graduate students will sit on LEFT side. Undergraduate students will sit on the RIGHT side.

  14. Getting to the stage… • Faculty marshals will ask students to stand by row (not by program). • Students should notify the faculty marshal if they are the first person in the next degree program. • You will receive your diploma from Dean Moore and pause briefly for your photo.

  15. Student Diploma Route – Graduate students • Faculty marshals will direct students to stand by row. • Grad students will use the left-sidestairs, receive their diplomas and walk across the stage IN FRONT OF THE PODIUM, then return to their seats. Stage * Grad degrees Ugrad degrees Doctoral degreecandidatesshould drape hoods over their left arms with cord/button left open. When your name is called, hand the hood to the faculty member on stage to perform the hooding. (Attach cord to button when you return to your seat.)

  16. Student Diploma Route – Undergraduate Students • Faculty marshals will direct students to stand by row. • Undergraduate students use the right-sidestairs, walk across the stage IN FRONT OF THE PODIUM to receive their diplomas, then return to their seats. Stage * Grad degrees Ugrad degrees

  17. Student Recessional • Faculty marshals will lead you out. • The reception will be across the street in a tent (89 Ashford St.) • Please stay in line until you arrive at the reception.

  18. BU Ceremony lineup by 12:15 • Students and guests heading to the All University ceremony (which begins at 1:00) on Nickerson Field head straight down Ashford Street. • Take the first right onto Babcock Street and then a quick left onto Braves Way. • This will bring you to Harry AgganisWay where graduates and families will diverge. Make a plan for meeting up again!
