  4. Materials Needed Pens & Pencils (Colored, Glue, Scissors) Binder or Notebook and Paper $15 Course Fee (check to JHS or cash) Desire to Learn

  5. Grading • Semester Grading • Classwork – 25% • Class Participation – 25% • Lab Work/Projects – 25% • Quizzes/Tests – 25% • Overall Grading • 1st 6 weeks – 25% • 2nd 6 weeks – 25% • 3rd 6 weeks – 25% • Final Exam – 25% • VOCATS Final = Mandatory for Everyone

  7. Classroom Procedures Do your own work Assignments posted on board No food or drinks allowed Your Computer – School Property, Stay on Task Remain in the classroom until the bell rings Only print assigned Marketing classwork

  9. At Home Review the Parent Letter, Syllabus, Blueprint and Contract with your Parent/Guardian. Make sure YOU and your Parent/Guardian sign all documents at the bottom and return to me by Friday, August 30th for 100 points. Think about 1-3 class goals for YOU and this class. Write them on the back of your syllabus (pink handout).

  10. Who Are You? (put on the back of your Information Sheet) Name 3 words to describe yourself What is your favorite store? What is the first thing you notice about a person? Computer or TV? 3 things you dislike 3 things you like about school What is your career goal? How did you get to this class?

  11. Keys to SUCCESS • Attend Class • Participate in ALL activities • Have something to write with and on EVERY DAY!!! • Keep binder organized and readily available • COMMUNICATE

  12. Effective Classes • Achievement • Attendance • Positive Attitude • Positive Behavior • (Hint: You might want to write these on your syllabus)

Career Technical Education (CTE) • Mission – To empower students to be successful citizens, workers and leaders in a global economy • RELEVANT Curriculum • College Credit at Coastal: A or B in course; 93+ on Final Exam in both Marketing and Marketing Management (should be offered next year if enough students express interest; 2nd level course)
