  2. TEST FACTS • MC- 1.5 hours • Break • FRQ- 1.5 Hours • I will bring you something to snack on at your break! • Recharge your brain! • The second part of the test is writing!

  3. 90 minutes for FRQs • You will have about 22 minutes for each question- Watch your time! • Answer FRQ section in this order! • 2 (non math parts) 4, 3, 1, 2 (calculations) • Answer the non-math portions before you begin calculations!

  4. AP TEST = 4 FRQs • Q1- Usually a document based question- scores high -Review the newspaper article for hints. It is meant to get you thinking about what you know! • Q2- Math question- scores low - Not all parts of the math question require math….answer all you can to squeeze as many points out as possible!

  5. Q3- Typical FRQ- What do you know. Medium difficulty • Q4- Easiest, but scores the lowest, because students run out of time!

  6. Be sure to LABEL each part CLEARLY!! • Skip Spaces • Use your BEST HANDWRITING!

  7. FRQ HINTS • Do not skip any parts of the FRQ! • Answer parts you know first! • Put something down you think might be right! • I have taught you SOMETHING about EVERYTHING! • Use your common sense!

  8. FRQ HINTS • DO NOT ANSWER A QUESTION WITH- • “it is bad for the environment” • “it causes air pollution” • “it will harm biodiversity” • “it is un-natural” • “make it illegal” • “kill all the animals” • These are too vague…you must be specific! • If a third-grader can say it, you didn’t explain HOW!

  9. FRQ HINTS • The test booklet will have the questions followed by multiple sheets of lined paper. Write the answer you want graded closest to the test question. • Use the pages that follow to brainstorm. BE sure to cross out what you do not want the reader to grade.

  10. FRQ HINTS • Remember: tie-die wearing, Earth loving, hippie-minded, tree- huggin’ ENVIRONMENTALISTS are grading your FRQ! • Always go with the answer that is best for the environment unless it asks you to do otherwise! • THINK LIKE A TREE HUGGER!
