Introduction • Acquisition of information sources - organisation • Consortia for acquisition of electronic souces • Currently there is Center for online databases, a project of Ministry of science, education and sport, Institute Rudjer Boskovic and CARNet – not a formal consortia, but a consortial database usage with no libraries’ in the system coordination • University and faculty/institute’s holding types Acquisition
Goal and purpose • Cooperative / consortial acquisition • All types of information sources according to the university curricula • Cooperative development and administration of relevant holding and collection (physical and virtual) • Active support in learning and research and development processes at the university (according to the Bologna declaration) Acquisition
Expected results • Contribution to the study quality at the University of Zagreb • Scientific production and quality increase • Usage and number of new information sources increase, their availability and access possibilities for all university system members • More intense inclusion and Croation authors recognition in the world’s scientific production, citation in the secundary publications • Informed, educated and content users Acquisition

Consortium for e-resources acquisition Accepts, verifies Expert committee lists according to the available funds; Coordinates requests of all universities; Approves final acquisition proposal; Signs licence agreements with publishers. Steering committee Licencing process–information flow - Selects and negotiates with publishers, accepts the best offers.
