Testimonials When asked about her recent experience restoring payroll data using the LiveVault Online Backup and Recovery System, Lisa Kopas from the Village of Flossmoor, IL said, "The process was as if nothing ever went wrong!" “I am extremely satisfied with Harris’ LiveVault Data Backup & Recovery Service because I am confident that our data is stored securely at an alternate location and available immediately if any system problems should arise that require a full or partial recovery of data. LiveVault has also helped us fulfill an off-site backup recommendation by our auditors. We no longer have the responsibility of copying our system data to tape and physically moving it to an off-site location. LiveVault takes care of all of that, which is a great time saver! I would highly recommend LiveVault to other organizations because it is a safe and simple way to insure that your system data is backed up, stored off site, and available for immediate restoration If the need arises.” Anne Abramavicius, Accounting Supervisor McHenry County Conservation District
“Its only a matter of time before all backupsand restores go the way of an online service, and LiveVault shows why.” “LiveVault is reliable, astonishingly easy to use, and tailored to the needs of remote departments” “The thought of never having to deal with a bad piece of media or a flaky tape drive will be enough to justify the move to a service such as LiveVault.” Experts Agree "The job of backing up data requires manual intervention, creating a situation that's ripe for error. Village of Tinley Park News Release Date: July 24, 2008 Contact: Trustee David G. Seaman, Chairman, Budget & Administration Committee, 708-444-5000 Village Manager Scott Niehaus, 708-444-5000 ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ Sharp-eyed citizen finds lost Tinley Park computer tapes The missing Tinley Park back-up computer tapes have been safely returned to Village officials after a resident found them a few weeks ago on the side of the road and later learned that they had been lost. Village Information Technology staff has determined that the tapes were not accessed or tampered with during the time they were missing. The loss of the tapes prompted the Village on Wednesday to inform several thousand residents and employees that their personal information may have been contained on the tapes and that they should take appropriate precautions in compliance with the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act. The resident told Village officials that the ensuing newspaper coverage of the loss as well as the letter from the Village made him and his wife recall that he had picked up a box with computer tapes inside while on a walk near the intersection of 167th Street and Oak Park Avenue. He said he brought the box home, saw computer tapes inside and tossed them in a garbage can. Upon learning the news of the missing tapes, he recovered them from the garbage and brought them to the Village Hall for inspection, where they were confirmed to be the missing tapes. “I’m just glad I didn’t empty the garbage can yet,” he told Village officials. Village staff continues to review how the tapes were lost, possibly during a routine transfer to another Village location. The incident has resulted in several revisions and enhancements to the security of the Village computer system and backups. The enhancements will ensure that this type of incident could not occur again. The Village is appreciative for this resident’s conscientious effort to return the tapes, bringing the incident to a safe resolution with no risk to the citizens. Village officials are also grateful to residents for the patience they have shown during this time.
